Dr. S. Ned Hinton
Doctor Ned Hinton is a native of Jones County, Mississippi. He grew up in the town of Soso and attended West Jones High School, Jones County Junior College, and Mississippi State University. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from MSU in 1982. His career as a veterinarian began in 1982 as an employee of Sawmill Animal Hospital, P.A. in Laurel, MS. He continues in that mixed animal practice today as a partner with Drs. Douglas F. Jefcoat, Randall R. Moore, Lance R. Jefcoat, and Kent E. Holifield. Although he enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, his primary interests are internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Hinton holds memberships in the American and Mississippi Veterinary Medical Associations and the American Heartworm Society.
He is a member of the Laurel Exchange Club, Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, and Old Antioch Baptist Church. Dr. Ned Hinton resides on a small farm in the Springhill community of rural Jones County with his wife, Jamie, and son, Dan. Their daughter, Emily, lives and works in the Laurel area. In addition to a small beef herd and Quarter Horses, they share their lives with four-legged friends: Walley, Izabelle, M.J., Princess, Abby, and Britches. Dr. Hinton enjoys farm work, reading, hunting, and traveling with his family.
